This 6/8 time march is written for the typical community brass band. Suitable for bands from D to C grade.
Ideal for the marching section in brass band competitions. Easy to march to, but has many countermelodies and moving parts to make it stand out.

The Banks of the Green Willow by George Butterworth who led a raid during the Battle of the Somme. The raid was successful but Butterworth was killed by a sniper's bullet on August 5th 1916. His body was never recovered. He is commemorated on the memorial at Thiepval. His music captured the spirit of the English countryside that he died to preserve. |
